PRV "Docking Station"

PRV "Docking Station" - is our own integrated vehicle / vessel developed and built by our engineering studio, the CORMORANT DESIGN·BUREAU.

The scope of this project is to develop an air-land-sea support platform for all sorts of operations.

PRV stands for:

  • P : protected, planetary, personal, private, etc.
  • R : rescue, research, response, robotic, roving, relay, recovery, recharging, etc.
  • V : vehicle, vessel, vector, etc.

Any combination of these 3 letters will result in an ad-hoc support platform.

In this specific case, PRV "Docking Station" is an evolution of the so-called RHIBs (Rigid-Hull Inflatable Boats) and provides support to all aerial & underwater drone operations in brown-water & green-water operating scenarios.

PRV "Docking Station" is a 12m RHIB-inspired vessel (although there is nothing "inflatable" about it).  Its main characteristics are:

  • infused composite hull & cabin made by a sandwich of UHMWPE, aramidic fibers, and vinylester resin
  • complete coating with ballistic fire-retardant 100 % polyurea
  • SEALEGS amphibious system
  • GARMIN electronics
  • 2x Mercury SeaPro 350 AMS
  • self-righting
  • RCD Cat. A (Ocean)
  • drone docking / recharging station, up to 4 drones
